For owners, CFOs and IT directors

Managed IT for the people who have to sign off on it.

Choosing an IT partner is rarely one person’s decision. The owner wants someone accountable, the CFO wants a number that holds, and the IT director wants help that makes the internal team stronger. This page answers each of you in turn: owners, CFOs and controllers, and IT directors.

If you own the business

One partner who is accountable for all of it.

You do not want to manage technology. You want it to work, you want to know someone is watching it, and you want one phone number when it does not. That is the arrangement: we take responsibility for the whole environment, from the help desk to security to backups, and we tell you plainly where things stand.

When your people call, a real person answers. No AI and no phone trees. Most problems are solved remotely, and when something needs hands on it we can typically be on-site in 15 to 30 minutes across the Portland metro, Salem and Bend.

You are also never locked in. Every agreement is month-to-month with 30 days’ notice, and if you leave we hand over your credentials and documentation and cooperate with whoever comes next. We would rather keep clients by doing the work well, and three in four of ours have stayed more than ten years.

Questions to ask any provider

Including us
  • Who answers when my staff call, and how fast?
  • What happens if we want to leave?
  • Who is watching our systems at 2 a.m.?
  • When did you last test restoring a backup like ours?
  • Where is our data, and who can reach it?
If you run the numbers

A cost you can put in the budget and leave there.

Technology spending is hard to forecast when it arrives as surprise invoices. Our plans replace that with one flat monthly fee, scoped to your environment, so the line in the budget is the line on the bill. What is included and what is billed separately is written down before you sign.

Hardware is the other surprise. Through our vCIO service we track the age and warranty of your equipment and plan replacements ahead of time, so a failed server becomes a scheduled purchase and not an emergency.

Security shows up on your side of the desk too. Cyber insurance applications now ask about managed detection and response by name. Every plan includes Sophos MDR Plus, and some cyber insurance providers may offer a discount when it is in place, so it is worth raising with your broker at renewal.

Questions to ask any provider

Before you compare quotes
  • What exactly is included in the monthly fee?
  • What gets billed separately, and at what rate?
  • What is the term, and what does it cost to leave?
  • Can you give me a replacement plan for our hardware?
  • Will you help us answer the insurance questionnaire?
If you run IT

Help that makes your team stronger, not smaller.

If you already have internal IT, you do not need to be replaced. You need the parts one person or a small team cannot cover alone: a help desk that absorbs the daily tickets, monitoring and patching that happen whether or not anyone is on vacation, and security staffed around the clock. That is co-managed IT, and it is a normal way to work with us.

On security, every plan includes Sophos MDR Plus: analysts watching your endpoints at all hours, with full incident response if an attack is under way. Sophos commits in its service description to responding within 60 minutes for 90% of priority investigations.

We also keep our own house in order. We do not host client data on our own systems, every remote session is logged, and access is protected with MFA on every platform. The details are on our Security & Trust page, written for exactly the vendor review you would run on us.

Questions to ask any provider

The ones a peer would ask
  • Who can take action on our machines, and when?
  • How do escalations reach my team?
  • What do you monitor, and what do you alert on?
  • How is your own access to our systems protected?
  • Do we keep our documentation and credentials?
